DYNAMIC SCIENCE - PREVENTING AND MANAGING CANCER

DYNAMIC SCIENCE- THE NEW SCIENCE THAT EXPLAINS THE SCIENTIFICITY OF SPIRITUALITY AND HELP IN UNDERSTANDING, PREVENTING AND MANAGING CANCER

The incidences of Cancer all over the world are increasing. More and more women also are now suffering from cancer of the female specific organs like breast, uterus and ovaries. Breast cancer used to be a disease of the western women. But it is now affecting Asia, mainly among women over the age of 40. But many teenagers are also affected with breast cancer nowadays. Many other diseases are coming out for which the present medical science fails to give explanations. This is the scenario for an innovative and pioneering enquiry into the problems of the science in general and medical science in particular for finding the deficiencies, limitations and incapacities which produces this situation and finding ways for the furtherance of science making it capable to deal with this kind of situations.

As we all know, science is growing by questioning answers and answering questions. Here we are discussing about a new science called “Dynamic Science” introduced by Dr. Shaji V. Kudiyat who is engaged in cancer research for more than a decade. He calls this new science a complete science. The present science is mainly based on materialistic philosophic perspective. All researches limit itself within the small world of materialism. This is the time this innovative physician and researcher had conducted his innovative analysis of cancer disease through the application of inductive-deductive logic, which is very interesting to look into.

Dr. Shaji V. Kudiyat is basically a Homeopathic Physician. So here this doctor treats patients holistically by considering the mental, emotional spiritual and physical planes together in association with the environment the patient lives in. It is a series of reasonable questioning and answering. Let us go through it:

What is cancer? Cancer is abnormal fast multiplication of cells. Who decides the rate of multiplication of cells in a living organism, particularly human beings? It is decided by the genetic information present in the nucleus of the cells especially in the chromosomes in the nucleus. What are chromosomes? Chromosomes are the genetic information carrying instruments which are made of genes. What are genes? Genes are made of DNA. What is DNA? DNA is Deoxyribo Nucleic Acid. It is made of molecules of deoxyribose, phosphoric acid and four nucleic acids called Adenine, Guanine, Thymine and Cytosine. (Purines and Pyramidines). According to the present scientific knowledge, the sequential arrangement of these 4 nucleic acids carries our genetic information including the rate of multiplication of cells.

Up to this is known to the present science. Dr. Shaji V. Kudiyat is going beyond this using the logical presentation of the current scientific knowledge and also by introducing new scientific hypotheses developed by him. As we continue our logical reasoning - if the sequential arrangement of the nucleic acids carries the genetic information in the DNA, the next question is - who decides the sequential arrangement of nucleic acids in the DNA?

The answer to this question is one of the new hypotheses of Dr. Shaji V. Kudiyat’s Dynamic Science. Before answering the above question, let us find out the difference between a living body and dead body or let us analyze the process of death. We can divide death process into three stages – before, during and after death. There are many organs and material functional ingredients which are functioning in the living body or certain percentage of the organs and other ingredients are functioning if the body is sick. When such a person dies, all the organs and other material functional ingredients which are functioning before death are still present in the dead body, but not capable functioning. This change from the capability of function to incapability of function occurred due to some happenings or changes in the living body during death. What happened during death? Or how we die?

No material organs or ingredients are taken or removed from the body during death. But when we take an EEG (Electro Encephalogram) or an ECG (Electro Cardiogram) which reflects state of energy in the body we can see that there was presence of energy in the brain and heart in the living body where as such energy is absent in the dead body. Ordinary people used to say that “the soul leaves the body during death.” This “energy” which leaves the body during death, which transforms the living body to a dead body, is the one creating and maintaining the living phenomena in any living organism. Ordinary people call this energy as “Soul,” homeopaths call it “Vital Force,” some others call it “Spirit,” etc. Definitely it is an “energy” level entity.

Energy exists in wave form or in vibrational form. Whatever may be the form of existence of energy, each form of energy is distinguished from other forms of energy by three determinants – “frequency, wavelength and amplitude.” Different TV and radio stations broadcast their programs in different frequencies and we tune our TV or radio and select the respective frequency to get into that TV or radio program. In the same way, the living phenomena in a living organism is created and maintained by an energy with a particular frequency, wavelength and amplitude.

Now coming back to our previous question of “who decides the sequential arrangement of nucleic acids in the DNA?” – the new hypothesis of Dynamic Science states that “ the sequence of arrangements of nucleic acids in the DNA that decides everything about a human being including the rate of multiplication of cells is a direct physical expression of the frequency, wavelength and amplitude of the energy, or the vital force or the spirit or the soul that creates and maintains the living phenomena in that person or living organism.” This establishes a connection between vital force or soul and the DNA.
According to Dr. Shaji V. Kudiyat’s Dynamic Science there is one more dynamic entity in a human being called “mind.” Each thought that develop in the mind is an energy vibration or wave with a particular frequency, wavelength and amplitude. So when we allow any kind of thought development in our mind, there exists two energy states in the same medium, which superpose or overlap each other resulting in the alteration or modification of the frequency, wavelength and amplitude of the Vital Force or Soul. This influence can easily understand by studying the theory of resonance and theory of superimposition.

When a vibrating tuning fork resonate its energy to the string of a Sonometer or the modifications of frequency, wavelength and amplitude of two overlaping waves explains the modifications of the frequency, wavelength and amplitude of the Soul or Vital Force by the overlapping of the thought waves that developed in the mind. The Dynamic Scientific hypotheses states that “ the positive, peaceful, happy and comfortable thoughts modify the soul constructively whereas the negative emotional thoughts such as anger, hatred, enmity, depression, fear, anxiety, jealousy, feeling of guilt, worries, etc. resonate or superpose and modify the frequency of the soul destructively. When the frequency, wavelength and amplitude of the soul or vital force is modified constructively (positively) or destructively (negatively), the sequence of arrangement of nucleic acids in the DNA get rearranged accordingly causing a constructive (healthy) or destructive (unhealthy) mutation in the DNA.

Thus the mind plays an important role in the development of either healthy or unhealthy mutations in our body. The above explanations also scientifically establish the relationship between mind, vital force and DNA or the relationship between the dynamic components and physical component in the living organism.

The mutation of the DNA also can be caused by two other routes also. They are (1) through the direct resonation and alteration of the frequency, wavelength and amplitude of the vital force by external radiations like X-rays, cosmic radiations, thoughts of others and any other man made and natural radiations and (2) chemical reactions through the physical body by the toxic or carcinogenic ingredients of the food, drinks and medicines we take and also through the contents of the air we inhale.
Whatever may be the source of the cause of abnormal mutation, we need to identify and remove the maintaining cause from the mental, emotional, spiritual and/or physical planes and then need to modify and fix the mental concepts and attitudes to a positive, natural, peaceful, healthy, happy and comfortable level so that the thoughts that develop from such a mind can resonate and superpose the vital force to modify its frequency, wavelength and amplitude which in turn will cause a curative mutation in the DNA.

Why more women suffer from cancer of the female specific organs like breast, uterus and ovaries?
Today’s women suffers more from cancer particularly cancer of the female specific organs like breast, uterus and ovaries. This has something to do with the state of mind of today’s women. They are liberated, decision makers and are tough individuals. “Feminity” is softness and smoothness. Many women are employed today especially in responsible decision making positions and many women are the breadwinner at home also. When women become a decision maker, they lose their feminity (softness and smoothness) and unknowingly become tougher individuals. But the female specific organs can remain healthily only in a soft and smooth environment, find difficulty to survive healthily in the tougher environment. Ultimately such females manifest their toughness in the form of tumors in their female specific organs. When they become aggressively tough, these tumors become malignant, killing them. Even the development of benign tumors makes them abnormal by making them incapable of fulfilling their basic mission as a female. Ex.: A woman with myoma of the uterus may not be able to become pregnant as the myoma acts as a foreign body preventing implantation of the fertilized ovum. This is similar to the situation of a loop deposited inside the uterus for artificial family planning which acts as a foreign body preventing pregnancy. Such tough minded females also develop difficulty in having normal delivery as the tough mind can express the toughness to the body by increasing the muscle tone of the females which in turn prevent the dilatation of the vagina during delivery, causing cesarean.
Dynamic Science has other areas of understanding also. It scientifically defines “God, Man, Matter and Universe.” This science incorporates the dynamic entities like mind and soul or vital force with physical body and thus completes the science. It is expected that the future of the science will be of the “Dynamic Science.”

H1 N1 - Preventive Is Better Than Cure

Dr. Anil Singhal, MD (Homeo)
Share your best to make this world healthy
H1N1 Flu and Homeopathy – Analysis

What is H1N1 flu ?

H1N1 virus is a new type of Influenza virus affecting pigs, humans and maybe some other animals. Humans do not yet have herd immunity to it as they do to other types of flu viruses.

As we (people on this earth) have not developed the immunity against H1N1, it is spreading like wildfire and at a rate faster than any other virus epidemic.

At present, it is a very low mortality viral infection and the risk of death (in kids who have low immunity, and adults at old age especially when weakened by diabetes or other debilitating disorders) is pale in comparison to childhood diarrhea, typhoid, bronchopneumonia at extremes of age, and many other diseases that we are used to.

The main worry is that the next mutated form of this virus, expected within a year, may acquire higher levels of virulence to cause death and or severe complications. To preempt that state of risk, we have to build the overall level of immunity in the general population (herd immunity) either by infection or with the help of a vaccine.

What are symptoms of Influenza A H1N1 ?

Just like any another flu, predominantly upper respiratory symptoms like cough, cold accompanied by the usual fever, headache, body ache, loss of appetite, sore throat, weakness, and sometimes uneasy stomach has been reported in many cases. Mild respiratory illness (nasal congestion, rhinorrhea) without fever and occasional severe disease also has been reported.

Managing H1N1 influenza:

Whenever any of above symptoms start, go to nearest Government approved laboratories for checkup and testing for H1N1 infection.

Protect Yourself, Your Family, and Community

Stay informed.

Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.

Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Germs spread this way.

Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
If you are sick, you may be ill for a week or longer. You should stay home and keep away from others as much as possible. Stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone except to get medical care or for other necessities. (Your fever should be gone without the use of fever-reducing medicine.) Keep away from others as much as possible. This is to keep from making others sick.

If you are sick and sharing a common space with other household members in your home, wear a facemask, if available and tolerable, to help prevent spreading the virus to others.

With seasonal flu, people may be contagious from one day before they develop symptoms to up to 7 days after they get sick. Children, especially younger children, might potentially be contagious for longer periods.

If you are in a high risk group for complications from influenza, you should attempt to avoid close contact (within 6 feet) with household members who are sick with influenza. If close contact with a sick individual is unavoidable, consider wearing a facemask or respirator, if available and tolerable. Infants and pregnant women should not be cared for by sick family members.

Follow public health advice regarding school closures, avoiding crowds, and other social distancing measures.

What Homeopathy or homoeopathic medicines can do ?

Hahnemann has mentioned guidelines for physicians to tackle any epidemic in his Organon of Medicine under the aphorisms 100-102:

In investigating the symptomatology of any epidemic or sporadic disease, it is NOT required to know whether something similar disease has appeared in the world before under the same name or any other name. Physician MUST examine every prevailing disease as if it were something new and unknown.

He SHOULD investigate it thoroughly for practicing medicine in a real and radical manner. He should NEVER substitute conjecture (guess or baseless opinion) for actual observations. He should NOT consider this new prevailing disease as if already whole or partially. He SHOULD examine this prevailing disease in all its phases.

It may be possible that the physician may not be able to obtain complete picture of disease in the first case of an epidemic disease. He may become conversant with the totality of signs and symptoms if he closely observes several cases of such disease.

This way the physician will be enabled to verify the suitableness of the medicine chosen, or to discover more appropriate, most appropriate homeopathic remedy. The whole extent or the totality of the symptoms cannot be learned from one single patient. It will be obtained by a complete survey of the morbid picture, which is essential to choose the most suitable homeopathic remedy.

Now, considering the guidelines given by Dr. Hahnemann – Inventor of Homoeopathy, I took all the symptoms (as mentioned by CDC) for further analysis.

Analysis of symptoms of hospitalized novel H1N1 patients :

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of US had tabulated the symptomatology of H1N1 virus in human beings:

Fever (93%)
Cough (83%)
Shortness of breath (54%)
Fatigue/Weakness (40%)
Chills (37%)
Myalgias (36%)
Rhinorrhea (36%)
Sore Throat (31%)
Headache (31%)
Vomiting (29%)
Wheezing (24%)
Diarrhea (24%)

You can see in more than 50% of the cases Fever, Cough, Shortness of breath were marked. I would like to mention some Emergency Warning Signs here. If you become ill and experience any of the warning signs, seek emergency medical care at nearest government hospital.

In children, emergency warning signs that need urgent medical attention include:

Fast breathing or trouble breathing
Bluish or gray skin color
Not drinking enough fluids
Severe or persistent vomiting
Not waking up or not interacting
Being so irritable that the child does not want to be held
Flu-like symptoms improve but then return with fever and worse cough

In adults, emergency warning signs that need urgent medical attention include:

Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
Pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen
Sudden dizziness
Confusion
Severe or persistent vomiting
Flu-like symptoms improve but then return with fever and worse cough

Selection of Homeopathic Repertory

In Homeopathy, Repertory is a clinical applied tool, in short, it helps to analyse symptoms of a patient in a clinical setup. There are various homeopathic repertories available (like Boenninghausen’s Therapeutic Pocket Book, Boger’s Boenninghausen’s Characteristics and Repertory, Kent’s Repertory, and some newer repertories) based on certain logic, philosophies or guidelines. Each one is having specific scope and limitations.

Considering the general symptoms of the H1N1 Influenza as mentioned by CDC, I chose Kent’s Repertory to analyse all these symptoms. Kent’s Repertory is the most often used homeopathic repertory worldwide.

Rubrics of Kent’s Homeopathic Repertory pertaining to symptoms of hospitalized novel H1N1 patients: (in bracket total number of homeopathic medicines are mentioned – these number of homeopathic medicines have affinity to cure linked symptom)

Fever; HEAT in general (152)
Cough (238) – here I included homeopathic remedies of all time modalities
Respiration; DIFFICULT (Asthmatic) (259)
Generalities; WEAKNESS (309)
Chill; COLDNESS in general (177)
Extremity Pain; GENERAL (168)
Catarrh+Coryza (224) – for rhinorrhea, I included all the remedies belonging to catarrh and coryza in nose.
Throat; PAIN; Sorethroat (in general) (120)
Head Pain; GENERAL (258)
Stomach; VOMITING; General (177)
Respiration; WHEEZING (62)
Rectum; DIARRHOEA (214)

On analysing the computational result of this, following homeopathic remedies are coming at a higher ranking

analysis_h1n1

I observed that Ars. is ranking on top covering almost all the symptoms of H1N1 in highest grade.

About Influenzinum

Recently, I heard that some SMS about Influenzinum are circulated widely in India.

Influenzinum - a homeopathic preparation called nosode is prepared by Pasteur Institute. It is anti – grippe vaccin prepared from 2 varieties of viruses, the one being that of ordinary influenza A.P. R. – 8 and the other A – Singapore – 1, 1957, which is called Asiatic influenza. The preparation of this mixture is, 3 parts of Asiatic virus and onepart of European virus. These viruses are cultured on chidken embryo, and titrated by the reaction of Hemagglutination of Hirst, after purification, and concentration by formol. The stock contains influenza titrated 500 units of hemagglutinant per millilitre. It is interesting to note that Pasteur Institute prepare specially this vaccine mixture for Homoeopathic uses.

Following the famous “Spanish Influenza” of 1918, some nosodes of Influnza appeared. Thus Pierre Schmidt of Geneva prepared the Nosode Influenzinum – Spanish, but he neither spoecified the composition of the stock nor the origin.

In the year 1938 appeared an article of Dr. Beeby in Homoeopathic Recorder concerning this Nosode and made a comparative study with Influenzinum of Dr. Nebel. Nebel of Lausanne prepared towards 1938 a series of Nosodes but they are not found at present.

According to Demageat there exists influenzinum 1918, prepared by Bach and dichington but the stock is not known. There even exists in Influenzinum 1918, prepared by Neison Laboratory in 30 CH nd an Influenzinum with China used in Influenza sequalae of Spain. All these nosodes exist no more in pharmacy.

At Nelson are found at present the different types of Influenza and Influenzinum.

There exist also several stocks of “Grippen Nosoden” in dynamizations D6 to D 400, prepared by the Laboratory Mueller, Goepingen in Germany and utilised by Voll according to Electro – acupuncture – orgenometry and tested therapeutically with his apparatus.

Reckeweg has prepared the “Grippe – Nosode – Injeel – forte D6, D10), D30, D200, which are to be used as injections.

Our present day influenzinum, as has been remarked by Demagent, does not correspond to the old stock.

There exists no pathogenetic experiment according to the method of Hahnemann. It is also cleared that different pharmacies preparing this medicine differently, and which influenzinum we are getting in India — I am not sure about that.

Regarding using influenzinum, the general directions Clarke gave to his patients are these: When “colds” appear in a family let all those who are unaffected take Ars. 3c thrice daily and let the patients take Influ. 30c every hour or two. Even Dr. P. Sankaran of Bombay had mentioned that Influenzinum is indicated for poor reaction, when the patient’s recovery is poor after influenza. And, Tyler of UK used this in post influenzal epilepsy.

Therefore, I think Influenzinum is to be used in patients suffering from H1N1, and for sequale after H1N1.

What Homeopathic Medicine for H1N1 ?

As such, we don’t have any concrete outcome related to the present situation of H1N1 in India and abroad. Dr. Hahnemann used the prophylactic medicines during epidemics in his time. He evaluated the remedies based on his guidelines, and using those remedies proved efficacy of homeopathic medicines in epidemics. His experinces lead him to create guidelines to finding the curative remedy in such epidemics. Similarly we can apply this in our search of homeopathic medicine for H1N1 flu pandemic.

As per my analysis, in my opinion, Arsenic Album (or Ars. alb., or Arsenic alba) might be the right choice right now. Taking Ars. alb. 30 twice daily for 4-5 days might be helpful initially for a month or so. I chose 30 potency as it would be safer for kids, children, preganant, and immuno-compromised peoples. The information provided here is designed to support, not replace, the relationship that exists between a patient/site visitor and his/her physician.

I presented this information here because I am finding lot of confusions in my patients, friends, students and my collegues.

In the last, if you find any flu-like symptoms, please consult your physician immidiately. All these info here is to update you about the facts. I am sure this would help you.

Dear Anil

You have given a very valuable information about the H1N1 and Homoeopathy. There are primarily two ways to look at the possibility of using Homoeopathy as prophylactic. One is use specific nosode which in any case is not avilable for H1N1, however the nearest one is Influenzinum. The efficacy of nosode has not been studied deeply, had it been that simple, WHO and other would have used dilution of H1N1 to contain the pandemic, so there is need to look beyond or to undertake measurable pilot study to establish credibity beyond doubt.

The other option is to use acute medicines, the steps should be 1) to identify sypmtoms of the group of patients, 2) shortlist group of drugs; this work to some extent have been done by Maxican doctors and have suggested Aconite-n, Belladonna,Bryonia, Ars alb, Eup perf, Merc viv, Gelsemium
Now there is need to treat some of the cases of swine flu with these or any other medicines, and report to CCRH, or to me so that further genus epidemicus can be worked out. Then there shall be a real challange of ensuring its proper distribution in appropriate dosage.
I request Homoeopaths to report their realtime experiences in swine flue. We shall also be shring with you our experiences periodically.

Great job by a sincere homeopath.Repertorial result would have been more accurate if some smaller rubrics(collected from patients) with few medicines would havebeentaken under consideration.Even then a commandable job.

It is always a pleasure to read your educational articles. It brings back the nostalgia of time spent together when we were classmates @ NHMC. Your articles are always of the highest educational value and point to the vast potential homeopathy has to offer. As world of medicine struggle to find answers for such ‘diseases’; homeopathic approach of treating the person as a whole might be the right answer.
Great article.

I thank Dr. Manchanda, Dr. Rajesh, Dr. Pankaj, Dr. Alok, Dr. Nule, Dr. Meetu, Dr. Peter, Dr. Rajendra, Hemant, Amit and all others for your appreciations and feedback. I wanted to share my views about homeopathy and H1N1. I am sure all these inputs would help to alleviate the panic in public.

Amit, Hahnemann used homeopathic medicines as preventives in epidemics in his time, and he reported success. Since than, people used homeopathic medicines in many epidemics like plague, cholera, etc. So, I believe if we have some common analysis of the situation, homeopathy can be used for prevention of flu H1N1, and I am sure with our collective efforts and awareness, confidence and hope would return among the people.

Raby, I have just uploaded some of my notes about influenzinum, some information is awaited.

Thanks a lot Dr. Anil Singhal for providing such detailed analysis on H1N1 virus in such simple and easy language.
I am suffering from cough and cold, but shortness of breath or fatigue is not there. I had consulted an alopathic doctor last week. He gave me some medicines for viral fever and common cough and cold, fever is gone but cough and cold is still a problem.

Can I take homeopathic medicines after alopathic course or both can go side by side…???

Waiting for your suggestions!!

While going over the info about the pandemic i came across a very good site published by a few Homeopaths in Mexico, where it all began. They had compared the current outbreak with previous one of 1916 and had quite a few good obsevations and their experiences treating patients with swine flu.

Swine flu is very dangerous disease. Its almost fatal. But there are lot of people whose swine flu is being treated by Homeopathic treatments and it has been very effective since homeopathy has no side effects, but disadvantage of that is, its effects can be destroyed by the effects of smoking, pungent smells, coffee, camphor or petrol smell. So one have to take care of. One has to keep place germ-free, avoid crowded places, cover mouth with a mask.

Homeopathy In Costa Rica - LMHI Report Warsaw 2009

Costa Rica
LMHI Report 2009

From 2003 to present, “Free Courses of Homeopathy” are held twice a year in the School of General Studies at the University of Costa Rica. Regularly attend students and academics but most are non-university. The courses have generated continuous interest for the holistic approach.

The syllabus of Costa Rican Homeopathic Medical Foundation (FMHC, by its initials in Spanish) closed in 2007. Physicians have expectations for university courses given and the more interest in clinical practice as usual or at least be registered in the Medical Board. In this Board had been resistance to this but, now there is the possibility of a change and also to regulate other complementary and alternative therapies. It has also emerged the idea of designing a master's university in homeopathy.

From December 2008 the oldest private hospital in Costa Rica, agreed to open a homeopathic outpatient services covered by private health insurance.

Homeopathic medicines are legal and regulated by the Ministry of Health. Only licensed doctors, dentists, veterinarians and midwife can prescribe medication.
In January 2009 a judicial court forced the Health Minister to give permission for two homeopathic naturopath, enrolled as biologists at the Biology Board to open homeopathic clinics. This has generated considerable controversy.

From the FMHC teaching experience in homeopathy and the recent interest of National Cooperative Institute and the cooperative Clínica de Pavas, which administers public health service, public funds were obtained to conduct the first research on homeopathy with holistic approach care.
At the same time, this has ensured that the Minister of Health officially supports the participation of the doctors who will present the results of this research in the Warsaw LMHI Congress.

REPORT TO THE INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL
Warsaw, Poland, August 2009

In September 2008 we had National Annual Conference of AHPB where the first European diplomas were officially distributed to members of our association. We had guests from Ministry of Health and they were very much impressed by the results presented by our homeopathic physicians. Next conference will be in October 2009.
General Practitioners and Homeopathy. We had the chance to form a very successful team from members of AHPB, Friends of Homeopathy Society in Bulgaria and the representatives of the DHU in Bulgaria. AHPB prepared a brochure - “Homeopathy for GP’s” to inform about different levels of practicing homeopathy; our association (AHPB), ECH and LMHI (main objectives, standards on education and good homeopathic practice, websites addresses, etc) and the fact that there are homeopathic doctors in Bulgaria fully trained according to ECH and AHPB standards. The booklet was distributed to 4000 GPs in Bulgaria and they were invited to a one day seminar. We had personal contact with 189 doctors and make them aware of the quality of our work as association and as practitioners.
The public - Homeopathy week in April – ‘Homeopathy and allergies”. A Happening in the South Park of Sofia “Flowers and allergies” with special program for children. A lot of leaflets about Week of Homeopathy and Homeopathy as a method were distributed. Before that Happening – very good PR. 4. OF GENERAL INTEREST

Switzerland enshrines complementary medicine in the constitution:
On 17 May 2009 the Swiss people voted in favour of a constitutional article for complementary medicine in a national vote. 67 percent of voters supported the new constitutional article proposed by the parliament. In accordance with the referendum the Swiss Federal constituion will be expanded by the following article:
Art, 118a: „The federal government and cantons shall ensure that, within the scope of their jurisdiction, complementary medicine is taken into consideration.“
On this constitutional basis the parliament and the authorities have to implement the following requirements:
• Admission of doctors of complementary medicine in the fields of anthroposophical medicine, homoeopathy, neural therapy, phytotherapy and traditional chinese medicine (TCM) into obligatory health insurance
• Creation of national diplomas for non-medical therapists
• Integration of complementary medicine into universitarian teaching and research
• Safeguarding of proven remedies

Admission of Homoeopathy to the Obligatory Health Insurance:
Some months ago we got an answer of the ELGK (eidgenössische Leistungs- und Grundsatzkommission) to our application for reentry of medical homoeopathy to the obligatory health insurance. We have to fullfill a high standard of demands, e.g. recent studies about the effectiveness etc.. Despite the positive outcome of the above mentioned vote we still are obliged to go the regular way of admission. The application will be sent back by the end of this year with the power of the positive vote in our back!

Students of homoeopathy:
For a long time the number of students was decreasing, but now there might be a change in sight. Last November two of our members were invited by medical students to hold a workshop during a medical students meeting. Also the local association of homoeopathic doctors of Berne could initiate a new course this spring. And a group of homoeopathic General Practitioners founded a new training especially suited for students who will be General Practitioners afterwards.
The need for well trained homoeopathic doctors is still growing, although over 270 physicians already have the certificate of capacity in classical homoeopathy. The corresponding programme can be seen in full details on the homepage of the Swiss association of physicians on www.fmh.ch (in french and german). At the moment we have a detailed discussion between the board and the education committee of SVHA and the homoeopathic schools to find better possiblities for the young colleagues to fullfill the there mentioned conditions especially the two years of practical experience.

WONCA Congress Basel, 16.-19. September 2009
We are happy to have the possibilities to be present with homoeopathic speeches and workshops at this congress of European General Practitioners (Hausärzte). As the subject of the congress - The Fascination of Complexity-Dealing with Individuals in a Field of Uncertainty is immanent in the homoeopathic work we are proud to hold a workshop with the title: From complexity to individuality: the homoeopathic approach. We hope to attract some GP’s to enlarge their skills by homoeopathy!
The other speeches with homoeopathic background will be listed on our homoeopathic homepage.

CME ist well established in Switzerland. 30 hrs in structured and certified education in classical homoeopathy and 20 hrs in conventional medical education (structured and certified) plus 20 hrs homoeopathic and 10 hrs conventinal medical selfstudy are required annually for recertification of the certificate of capacity in classical homoeopathy. The education committe of the SVHA evaluates und controls CME. Sanctions will be taken if in three years CME has not been fullfilled. Over 80% fullfill CME without special request, 10% need to be contacted and 10% have valid reasons for excuse (e.g. health problems).

Measles
Last winter there has been an increasing number of patients with measles. We as homoeopathic doctors have been attacked to be responsible for the vaccination rate of children in Switzerland to be only around 85%. There were discussions in the radio and television with members of our association with reasonable good results for us as homoeopathic doctors. We decided in our organisation SVHA to make a study on measles patients we treated and the –rarely observed- complications and to show how the homoeopathic treatment can help to overcome this disease without major problems even in adult patients. We couldn’t start the project till now because we need the permission of the ethical commission of each Swiss canton; some of them are still outstanding.
